Memorandum —_ Gebhardt S Re: HEARNAP; INDIANA..UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATES It is noted that to date numerous individuals who na University (IU) with William and Emily Harris have ed and interviewed in an_effort to develop information ge e graduates and attendees P , who reside in their respective territories, have been targeted by the LA and SF Offices. While nationwide contact with IU alumni of this period is not feasible because of the number of individuals involved, it is believed that face-to-face interviews should be expanded at least into the State of Indiana, By circularizing all IU Alumni clubs nation- wide, we can publicize their fugitive status and perhaps elicit some positive information. MARINE CORPS ASSOCIATES As William Harris served in the U. S. Marine Corps, it is believed that he, while in a fugitive status contact some of his j "buddies". Accordingly, we are rechecking the service recor or the identities of former associates and reinterviewing those individuals who have been identified as serving with Harris. CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES With the thought that the three fugitives may be involved in some type of criminal activity to support them while in a fugitive status, widescale dissemination of subjects’ photographs, descriptive data, and fingerprints will be made to police departments with the request that these individuals be considered as suspects in various erimes, particularly armed robberies, Furthermore, identification sections of major police departments will be requested to compare unidentified latent fingerprints against the known fingerprints of the fugitives. The Bureau's Identification Division will also be requested to conduct similar comparisons where feasible,
