He stopped overnight in Philadelphia. He went on to Washington, D.C., the next day and atayed for the nect four or five days with a JANE OLMSTEAD, 762 Delaware 4venis, S.W., Washington, D.C. During this period, he tried to find em- Ployment unsuccessfully. He contacted his uncle, WAUTER SCOTT, by phone at Scranton, Pa., 4n order to get money to come home, His uncle wired him several hundred dollars aid WALTER _ Was surprised &6 the large amount, He returned to Soranton, — -Pa., to the home of his uncle and found that he had -aceived an income tax return for approximately $650. -Countiig the approximate $200 that his uncle had wired to him, th's left WALTER with approximately $50 remaining. oe Taking this $450, WALTER went to his paren :s' home in Las Vegas on approximately July 6, 1974. He went there by airline and stayed approximately four weeks. He waa then preparing to go overssas for amployment. His brother, JACK, was at Las Vegas during a portion of thia trip. The sus- picions as to the identities of HEARST and the HARRI:|' had already been raised through conversations with JACK, which are described above, They had been confirmed by WAL''ER'g discussion with his parents. During this trip to La.: Vegas with conversation with his brother,. WALTER confrontec| hin about involving their paranta in this matter.
