MEMORANDUM: TELEPHONE CALL FROM MR. HOOVER TO MR. CUINN.

Mr. Guinn advised the Director that Mr. HaroldyfGran,
of thepx!'Time” Magazine telephoned this morning and said that he
is preparing a skit for the March of Time and that there is a
question of procedure involved and that he would like to telk to
Mr. Quinn about it. Mr. Quinn advised Mr. Horan that Mr. Hoover
handles all of the major cases end any question of procedure would
have to be settled by him. Mr. Horan said he would call Mr. Quinn
tomorrow morning. The Hauptmann cese is the topic of the skit.
ee, Mr. Quinn edvised Mr. Hoover that Mri churchill, of the
é /} / Pat) Men" magazine will be in this afternoon to go on tour.
Mr. Quinn edvised that Kr. Suydam called him this morning
and requested eighty more copies of the article” entitled"Prolice
“Training School", He is going to release this immediately and will
need thése copies to give one to each press representetive.
Mr. Hoover said there were two releases sent to Mr. Suydam — the one
concerning the curricula and one on the faculty and the members of the
school. The third one is the one Mr. Clegg will use for inquiries
coming to him frow the outside.
Mr. Hoover instructed Mr. Quinn to furnish Mr. Suydam with the copies
he has requested.
Mr. Quinn said he had gotten in touch with MreifcFell this
merning concerning the date of thegftoproprietions hearings. He was
advised by Mr. McFall that the heatings will start on the fifteenth
of January and he could not see how they will reach Justice before
January the twentieth or ‘ebruary first.
Mr. Suydam called “r. Quinn this morning and said be has re-
ceived in-uiries from the presa as to whether the Bureau is holding
anyone in New York on the extortion case concerning
Mr. Quinn advised him that the Pareaun fap holding-a-nanend that he has. nna
