Separate from the above nuterial are 18 cardboard boxes stored in Speeial Projects Ceection epace in the gdcH Building which contain various awards presented to ltr, hoover through the years. These awards were formerly dicplayvd in the corridor and reception room lcading to his office and a limited number of these items are displayed currently on the tour route. These items have been inventoried and are stored awaiting disposition. Will dated 7/19/71 of Mr. Eoover, made seven bequests and left the remainder of his estate to Clyde A. Tolson, who was also nomimated as Executor of the estate. No mention was made of any property related to the memorabilia. A codicil dated 9/6/73 to hir. Tolson's will dated 8/14/72, noted that any and all memorabilia, medals, plaques, photos, or any and all other personal property which can be easily idcntificd with the late John Edgar Hoover were bequcatiicd to his Executor who quilified at the time of his demise, Purpose wae to install the memorabilia and personal property in the John Edgar hoover oom in the new FEI Rullding and the Executor would be empowered with exclusive discretion and Judgment as to items to be included. John Philip Liohr was nonunated as executor. Tolson's will is presently in litigation in D. C. Superior Court, Frobate Division. On 9/30/76 Mr. John J. McDermott, Assistant to the Director - Deputy Associate Director (Administration), designated Printing and Space Management Scction of the Admintetrative Scrviccs Division as custodians of this property pending final determination as to ownership and disposition.
