SOBLE states that he recalls that STERNS had mentioned that they knew both BILL and EARL BROWDER. SOBLE related that JANE mentioned that she knew a BROWDER but did not recall what BROWDER it was. SOBLE related that in the summer or fall of he thinks 1945, he spent three or four days at the STERNS' home at Ridgefield, Conn. SOBLE relates that on this trip to Ridgefield he took with him to Ridgefield his typewriter. SOBLE related he did this because he was at that time attending typing school and wanted to improve his skill. SOBLE related that at first ALFRED and MARTHA made fun cf him for this but later ALFRED became quite interested. SOBLE stated on return NYC ALFRED went with SOBLE and enrolled in the same typing school. SOBLE stated that this school was located in Times Square. SOBLE stated that ALFRED attended this school with him for three or four days, found it very difficult, and finally quit.
