NY 100-86896 BC ‘complained of: what he termed severity of MYRA SOBIE's sentence — as 8/20/57 SOBLE stated that he could not recall if chapters of KRAVCHENKO's book, given to him by ZBOROWSKI, were typewritten or handwkitten. SOBLE says he does recall that the material was written in the Russian language. Re ROBERT SOBLE, SOBIE relates that the "Professor" who had been questioned by the FBI about ROBERT in GUBITCHEV case was not a Professor at all but 4a doctor. SOBIE related that this doctor was a friend of ROBERT's but had probably mentioned this in passing to ROBERT. SOBLE related that ROBERT had told him about this. SOBIE related did not know the doctor's name but he could have been the doctor who performed an operation on GUBITCHEV. SOBLE stated it might have been in connection with this operation that ROBERT hag become acquainted with this doctor. SOBLE related his brother ROBERT had been to see him twice since MYRA had been sentenced, and related that at first visit he had become very emotional and had told ROBERT that _displeased with ROBERT s treatment of his son: OBIE avoided answering directly when questioned had gone to see him after laspe of time but answered "why do you think he came to see me". SCBIE requested that USA's office be advised of his desire to confer with his wife MYRA and Attorney GE WOLF on 8/21/57, and talk with agents after he had confezed with WOLF and his wife MYRA.
