OLIVER J. GARO, now employed by Remington Land Company, Philadelphia,
and former manager of the Woodstock Typewriter Company's Philadelphia branch,
has been interviewed by Agents of the rhiladelrhia office as follows,
Report of SA dias L, KIRKLAND dated 12-17-48 at Philadelphia
reflects that CAROW was interviewed specifically regarding his recollection
of THOMAS GRADY, a salesman then employed by the Woodstock Typewriter Company,
and further concerning any records he might have in his possession concern
ing that company. Abt that time he advised that he had disposed of any
records in his posscssion concerning \Voodstock but that he would make a
complicte search in order to ascertain definitely if any records were available.
He subsequently advised that he had conducted such a search and that he had
no records concerning the Voodstock Commeny. The exact dates of these con-
tacts with CAROW are not available but all the above information was in-
cluded in referenced report which covered the period December 6, through
1h, 1945.
Report of the same Agent dated 12-23-48 covering the period
December 16, throuzh 23-1948, contains additional information obtained from
CARGY regarding THOMAS GRADY, and other individuals who had been in charge
of the Fhiladelphia asency of the Woodstock Typewriter Company from 1925
until the agency was closed, During the course of this interview CAROW ad-
vised that all records received by him were in turn turned over to CHARIS
PARHDR, his immediate successor, and that he, CAnOW, had retained absolutely
no records in his possession and knew of no records which would assist in
the identification of the sale of a typewriter to the Fansle~mNMartin partnership,
Philadelphia tel dated 1-5-9 to the Bureau, UFO, and New York City
includes the comment that CAROW advised that there were no inventory shortages
prior to 1933. Philadelphia tel dated 1-6-9 to the samo offices states that
CANO! edvised the "daily machine reports" were part of the reguhr official
records and would have been handled in the same manner as any other records,
Information concerning the daily wachine reports obtained from CARLOW, to~
gether with information developed from him as a result of inquiries concerning
the retention of old stock typewriters in the Fhiledelphia agency is set
forth in the report of Agent KIRELSND dated 1-11-49. 10
