In a statement executed on July 23, 1954 by the late Special Agent
K, he atateds “About 10:50 P.k., John Dillinger, eacoompanied by two women,
eame cut of the theatre and walked south on Lincoln Avenue, Mre Purvis
lighted a cigar, which was the signal to all Agents that Dillinger had
@ome out of the theatre. Dillinger, just before passing this Agent, glanced
in the direction of Agent, and then took about two more stepa, and again
glenced at Agent. At this tire, this Arent approached Dillinger on his
right rear side. Agent observed Dillinger draw from his right hand trousers
pocket a pistol and he then made an effort to rum. There were three or
four shots fired and Dillinger feli,*

Former Special Agent F, in a statement executed en July 23,

was the pre-arranged signal to indicate that Dillinger wes soning eut of
the theatre. Simultaneously with that signal, the writer observed a man
who answered the description given as to how Dillinrer would look and
would be dresaed who came out of the theatre with two wnsen,
the description given of the women who would be with him. It was immediately
known tothe writer that thet party was Dillinger. ¢ * * I] observed that
