Grumbley recalla that the party registered late one night, being checked in by the night clerk, end hie infornation being that they had just ériven in from Celifornia, By their appearance it was clear thet they were mixed up in some kind of a racket. Long was tke leader, and Futlow tonk care of all the bille for the party. Payment was alwaye made in cabh, with dbille of-large denomination, Mr. Grumbley recalling that the presence of the party at the hotel during the bank holiday was helpful to the hotel because of the shortege of cash.
