ir, Nobles also exhibited to Agents a telegram sent at Little Rock,
Arkanses, June 18, 1923, addreseed to Lou Conner, 1101 Central, Hot Springs,
Arkanaes, which is as follows:
"Your number wont ansrer call re phone
two nought two eight one (egd.) Grady Swarts."
It was ascertained st the telephone company in Little Rock that
telephone number 20281 is listed in the name of C. Le Wilsor Park Hill,
North Little Rock. An examination of the toll calle from the number 20281
showed nothing of further interest, except that on June 20, 1933, an effort
weg made by Grady Swerts to eall Lou Conner at numbers 617 and 1445 in Hot
not be located,
It was ascertained that the person whose ‘phone is listed in the *
at 408 Ridze Brive, Park Hill, North Little Rock. Mr. Nelson was inter-
viewed and stated thet he operates some of his liquor deale under th: name
of Wileon. He steted that Grady Swarts fe hie sister and thet she operetes
e tourist cam knorn as “Grady's Tourist Camp" about 2) milee from Longview,
Texas, on the Shreveport Roed. Ee stated that Grady Swarts is well acquainted
with Lou Conner and is probably in constant touch with ber. Nelson advised
thet he and his wife recently visited Grady at Longview, and at that time
she spoke of Lou's whereabouts but he does not know where she mentioned. He
atated thet Grady is not given to talking, but might disclose the wrreaboute
of ¥re. Conner if properly approached. .
Too hotel records also showed a number of local calle from the
rooms occupied by Long and his party. Notes were made of a number of calls,
which were checked through the telephone company and are shown to have been
made to the following persons:
