Jane 17, 1933, he was proceeding north toward the business district of Kansas
City, Miseourf, and when he neared the Union Railreed Gtation he turned on
to Pershing Road, proceeding Weat to Main Street, then turned to his left,
which would again be Wost and direct towards the street which is nearest to
the front entrance of the Union Station. At e point at the Fast end of the
Union Station Plaza he drew near to a green Reo Sedan, 1952 model, bearing a
foreign license plate which he did not recognize. The Reo was proceeding
Wost directly beside him at the point where treffie buttons are located, Ap
the car drew alongside of Mr. Link he heard e@ voice say “Duck, you (obscene
profanity), duck*®. He looked up and saw a man caning out of the left rear
door of the Reo Sedan and recognized him es Subject Harvey Bailey. When
Bailey emerged from the rear seat of the car Mir. Link noticed he had a machine |
gun in his hand. Link then drew his car to the curb, which would be direstly
in front of the Union Station at the East end. The Reo Sedan then proceeded
five or siz feet west in the direction of the two entrances of the Union Station,
end then came to a dead stop. Mre Link recognized as the driver of the car .

the officers with the prisoner walking from the entrance of the Union Station
