Mrs, Margaret Turner mede a written atatement, the original
of which will be available through the Kansas City Bureau Office for the use
| of the United States attorney at the Preliminary Hearing.
Mrae Turner stated that on the early morning of June 17th
she and one Walter Berry drove fram Glethe, Kansas, in order that he might
meet the 5:50 AM. train, on which a relative was arriving. Upon errival
at Kanses City at 2:50 A.M. Berry parked the car in the Plaze section in
front of the Union Station facing south, and she went in to inquire as to
when the train would be in from Mexico, Missouri, and was advised that it
would arrive at 7:50 A.M. She then returned to her automobile and talked to
Berrys During the conversation he remarked that he did not know whether he
was able to park in the place in which he wae then located, so they ciroled
around the concourse and faced their car north, looking directly at the Union
Station. About the time that they got into this position, which was some-
where around 3 A.M. a Reo autamobile drove up and oecupied their former park-
ing plece so that they were facing them directly end were only 10 or 15 feet
aways Mra. Turner stated also that about 5S A.M. a black Chevrolet Sedan or
Coach drove up near the Reo and the parties exchanged recognition, A woman —
got out of the Chevrolet and went to the depot. Mra, Turner sould recognise
thie woman if she saw ber, and stated that ehe was of medium heighth, young,
nicely dressed in a white creas that flared out at the bottom, a black coat -
ané white turban hat. When this women entered the depot she remained about
ten minutes, and during thie time the Black Chevrolet Sedan circled the
Plaza about three times. When the woman came out of the station she Looked
to her right and then to her left and proceeded to the left, which is tomrd
