; Agents Lockerman and Rice stated that they knew the woman occupying the Auburn waa BOBBY MOORE but that they had no information that the man tho entered the car was MILLER and were not edvised of thie fect until MILLEa shot at Nichols. I put on my shoes, left the building, and went around in the neighborhood and saw the Auburn car approximately three blocks from the hotel abandoned in a blind etrest. At the time I arrived at the car, Special Agent Rewmno was there and I went through the orowd in an effort to obtain some information as to the direction the fugitives had taken. One man advised me that MILLER bad gone dom the blind street and that BOBBY MOORE had run the opposite direction. I went down thia street and found a man who said he eav MILLER leave the car es it was making a turn to gest out of the blind strest, -and jumped the fence; and that the woman drove the car pert wy back up the blind street and left it, I was later informed, the source of the information not recalled, that BORBSY MOORE had contacted LARRY BITTERMAN at a neighbor- hood drug store, LARRY BITTERWAN being the son of the owner of the hotel. The car at the time agent examined it was found to have been etruok five times by bullets, presumbly from the machine gun, one of which went directly between the occupanta of the car, three through the top and through the windshield, and one through the license then through the fender and into the left rear tire. A search wee made by various agents and police officers through @partments 211 end 101 but no guns vere found on the premises, fhe apartment occupied by MRS, O'SHEA, who was found to have taken 77 BOBEY MOORE'S children to her apartment, we placed under surveillance and the telephone wire tapped, as ws also the wire leading into MRS. BITTERVAN'S apartment, MRS, BITTERUAN being the owner of the building and the mother of LARRY BITTEPAAN, who is a close friend of BOBBY MOORE. This surveillance waa maintained from the time of the escape until the afternoon of November 6th when spartment 415, which ws being used as a headquarters by agents, and apartment 207 were given up. ee eee
