'(4}. ‘Information received from the New York Division Office that upon trecing the license plates and the automobile of this men, indications were that the party who purchased same answered the description of Verne Miller. . (5). The fact thet this men stayed in Room 211 with Vi all night. (6). The eliminetion of 211 the other boy friends of vi and the fact that this man was intimately ac- quainted with Bobby Moore. Note: Our information was that Verne Miller had murdered Bobby Moore's husband, Jack Harris, at her request. On Wednesday afternoon, November 1, 1924, a general discussion wes had in Room 207, in the presence of the police officers and Acents, end it wes the concensus of opinion that we crash into Room 211 at 5:00 © Dette thet eftemoon. Speciel Agent Guinane drew up a plan, assigning certain agents end officers to ventage points which completely surrounded the apertugt in question; further, it was decided that a telephone call be pleced to Room 211 and to notify whoever answered this cell thet we knew Verne Miller was in there and to ask him to come out end give hin- self up; further, if he did not come out peacefully, we were to inform him we had the eapertment completely surrounded and were going to go in and teke him out. At 4:15 P.M., thet afternoon, when all of us were in readi- ness to crash Room 211, we were notified that the Director had issued instructions not to enter the room until the man was more positively identified. With regard to Miller's.escape, I am uneble to furnish very muck detailed information, except that I was instructed by Special Agent Guinane to open the door of my apartment, leading into the corridor immediately after Specisl Agent FE. N. Notesteen gave the signal that he had positively identified Miller. I fully complicd with these instructions
