Hall iuformed that thereafter Baird approached hin and stated that there were $351,000.00 worth of stolen Liberty Bonds, having been stolen from the above mentioned bank, and about §45,000,00 worth of other stolen bonds held in three safety deposit boxes in three different names in a prominent bank in Denver, which bank is located on the busiest corner in Denver, Hall further stated’ that Baird told him that he was the only man who had accesa to these eafety deposit boxes, Hall further learned from Baird that the keya to such deposit boxes are now in the possession of Joseph Wyeth, proprietor of the Wyeth Hardware Company, St. Joseph, Missourie Hall informed that Wyeth ia very much interested in eviation, owns his ovmm plane, and hires a regular pilot, Hall informed that his agreament With Baird was aa follows: . ; ; That he and Baird would ride on the sams train from Chicago to St. Joseph, Missouri, where Hall would take residence in a hotel, changing his room every third night so thet his identity would not be established; that — Baird would secure the keys at St. Joseph and go on to Denver, where he would secure the said stolen bonds from the bank; that he would then turn the bonds over to an unidentified man, who presumably is not “hot", who would bring the bonds back to St. Joseph, Missourl; that Hell would come municate with Baird at the latter’g residence, 223 North 8th Street, phone, 6-4287, St. Joseph, Missouri; that Baird would then have the bonds delivered to Hall and would then atrange for Hall to meet an unnamed Mexican to thom Hall would deliver the stolen bonds; that Hell would, upon | such delivery, receive 25% of the face value of said bonds, keeping $40,000,00 for himself, and returning the remainder to Raird; that Hall son of a Governor of one of the States in Mexico, by virtue of which he has diplomatic relations, ta able to carry sealed baggage across the border, and is able to take parties with him without proper passport; that the Mexican and Hall would proceed to Hermoses, Mexico, where the stolen bonde Would be delivered to the Treasury of.the State and cash in exchange would — be taken out; that when this waa done Hall would then receive another 25% from the Mexican which, in effect, would mean thet the Mexican was receiving 50% of the face value of the bonds as compensation for handling ‘ them. Hall is to keep $10,000.00 of the second 25% as his own cut end retura the remainder of the money to Baird, Hall ie then to go away, ,..... possibly to Shemokin, Pennsylvania, which spot was suggested by Baird, where he ia to lay low until Beind secures further stolen bonds. to be dis- posed of by Halle po, It is to be noted that Baird is now confined in the County Jail in default of ten thousand dollar bond, and that Spangler was released ca ~ hia own recognizance on December 2, 1933, The case in which they are .
