Moore of the Jackson Office was telephonically contacted in this matter. Mr. Moore was advised Senator Edward Kennedy planned to be in Jackson, Mississippi, on 8/8/66 to speak at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference convention. Moore was advised of the details of Kennedy's plans and instructed to alert the local authorities. In addition, it was pointed out that any information coming to their attention concerning klan activities or other matters which might effect the Senator's trip should be brought to the attention of local authorities as well as the Bureau, ACTION: SAC Moore advised that the local authorities as well as the Jackson Office were aware of the convention and that Senator Kennedy planned to be there.
