2.1. The purpose of this policy notice (PN) is to provide interim policy on access to entity
data permitted in response to Sentinel searches for those groups listed in Section 3.
Specifically, search results for these listed groups will return the case numbers, case
managers, case squads, case access levels and full entity (i.e., all fields in data structures)
information associated with the search terms for restricted and prohibited cases in Sentinel.

2.2. The groups listed in Section 3, “Scope.” currently have access to entity data for
restricted and prohibited cases in Sentinel through the legacy Automated Case Support
(ACS) application functions. ACS is being retired by the end of August 2018, and this
functionality will be provided to the listed groups directly by Sentinel after the ACS
retirement.
2.3. Justification: The groups listed in Section 3 currently have access to entity data for
restricted and prohibited cases from Sentinel through ACS, to which Sentinel backfills this
information. Because the mainframe computer on which ACS is hosted will be
decommissioned in August 2018 and will not be replaced, all applications on the mainframe,
including ACS, must be retired, migrated to new platforms, or replaced with functionality
elsewhere. The functionality described in this PN is being developed and will be provided
through Sentinel. Thus, this PN is necessary to fill the guidance gap and permit access to
the Sentinel data to these groups.
