This PN applies only to the groups listed in Section 3, “Scope.” All other FBI personnel are
exempt.
S Polley Statement
5.1. Pursuant to federal statutes, EOs, and intergovernmental agreements, the FBI must
respond to information requests related to FOIA, the Privacy Act, and the National Name
Check Program (NNCP); conduct other government agency (OGA) background
investigations; and address security matters within prescribed timeframes. Additionally, the
FBI must comply with statutory, executive branch, and Attorney General guidelines (AGG),
as well as DOJ requirements or mandates involving applicant and employee background
investigations, OPR investigations, IIS complaints and internal investigations, Equal
Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaint processing, national backstopping and alias with
false identification (AFID) support for covert operations, and procedures for the [confidential
human source (CHS)] Witness Security Program (WSP).
5.2, To comply with these requirements, relevant FBI personnel in the groups listed in
Saction 3 must have access to case numbers, names of case managers, case squads, case
access levels and full entity (i.e., all fields in data structures) information for restricted and
prohibited cases in Sentinel associated with search terms entered into Sentinel for the case
classifications provided for each group listed in Section 3, "Scope.”
§.3. ITADD, as the Sentinel product owner, must provide the Sentinel users in the groups
listed in the “Scope” section, as identified by those groups and in accordance with their
duties and responsibilities, with case numbers, names of case managers, case squads, case
