The NYO along with the Southern District of New York (SDNY) are currently completing a complaint charging LAMO with his unauthorized access into WORLDCOM, NEW YORK TIMES, LEXIS/NEXUS, SBC COMMUNICATIONS and MICROSOFT. The NYO and the SDNY will have the complaint completed the week of July 21, 2003. The NYO will charge his other hacks upon indictment. LAMO is reports to be homeless and usually stays witb6 -3, -35 friends or in hostels for lodging. LAMO makes money in the b7C -3, -5 computer_security field, when ne ary. His ce hone bill residence at. LAMO Keeps im contéct wi we, nOw! Upon his arrest, the NYO has identified five (5) groups of individual who need to be interviewed regarding LAMO. In total approximately 225 individuals will be interviewed. The groups are as follows: 1. Individuals he contacts via telephone 2. Individuals he has close relationships with (Will be providing Grand Jury subpoenas) 3. Individuals that were run in Lexis/Nexus 4. Individuals whose IP addresses were used to run unauthorized Lexis/Nexus searches (Will be providing Grand Jury subpocnas) 5. Individuals he is friends with but are reporters. (We are currently obtaining Department of Justice approval to conduct these interviews) This communication is to address the individuals with whom LAMO has close relationships and individuals whose IP addresses were used to run unauthorized Lexis/Nexus searches. Investigation by the NYO has revealed that several of the interviewees IP addresses were used to access the unauthorized Lexis/Nexus accounts. These individuals will be noted below. When interviewing these individuals determine what other individuals have/had access to their internet conn 4 uring DIE -2 the time period of 1/2002 to 3/2002. Copies of the logs of these individuals are provided in enclosures. LAMO may Rave also provided these individuals with access to the unauthorized Lexis/Nexus userids and/or talked about all his computer hacking activities. Please note, due to the time limit placed on retaining logs by Internet Service Providers, not all subscribers of IP addresses that accessed the unauthorized Lexis/Nexus userids could be determined.
