purbhased some bananas, cookies, mercurochrome, adhesive tape, and four bottles
of pope lie drank one bottle in the store but took the other three with hime
Several other persons, whose names were not secured, were quos-
tioned in the storo for further information, and it was learned that the rural
mail carrier had noticed this ord car, with Toms license parked alongside of
the road a short distance from town, He only noticed two men and a girl, but
believed that there could have been another party in the car or lying on the ground

Agent interviewed Ethel Brown, who advised that she observed
this black Yord VS Sedan with red wheels stop at the corner, and back around as
if the perties were confused in which direction to goe One of the men came to
the house and got some weter, and he resembles the picture of Clyde Barrows
After he left they found some adhesive taps in the yard covered with blood. when
they left this corner they were headed north. Agent and Deputy Sheriff Vaughn
proceeded north a mile to a "I" cross roed, and being unable to find any auto-
mobile tracks going West, proceeded east for a mils or more making inguiries at
various farms. At the Mosher fara, Mrs. Mosher stated that sbout ten-thirty on
the morning of July 20 she noticed e Ford car go by her house traveling rather
slowly, There were several people in the car, just how many she did not notices
She stated that the road past her house was seldom used by strangers, and as
she hed recently been missing several chickens, che paid more or less attention
to strange carse She stated that the parties in the front seat of this car
e@ppeared to be looking around observing the country-sides This Agent followed
the road east about three miles further where it enters to a fairly well
traveled country byeroads Numerous inquiries along this latter road, both north
and south, failed to elicit any further infomation concerning this car. However,
as this road only runs north and south it is presumed thet the car went north,
ap it had been traveling north and east since leaving Caledonia,
