She said her husband did not do any shooting on ‘that occasion as she and her husband were upstairs, She was questioned con- cerning other trips and escapades and murders attributed to the Barrow gang, but would not answer questions in connection with some of theme. With respect to the automobile accident in which Bonnie Parker was severely burned near Wellington, Texas, she said that Clyde Barrow, Hubert Bleigh and Bonnie Parker were the only persons in that accident, and that night mar Sayre, Oklahoma, in a wooded section, she and her husband met Clyde, Hubert and Bonnie with the two kidnapped officers and thet the boys tied the officers to the tree. The further information obtained from Mrs, Barrow at this inter- view is in substance the seme as will be contained in an account of the results of the investigation by Agent Dewey in Iowa, which will be found in this reports After leaving Des Moines Sheriff Bash and the writer proceeded to Adel, lowa, where arrangements were made with Sheriff Clint Knee to interview Marvin (Buck) Barrow, who wan in a hospitel at Perry, Iowa. At Perry, Iowa, Marvin Berrow was interviewed. He was danger- ously 111 from gunshot wounds. He was under heavy guard. He was entirely con- gseious at the time of the interview, Marvin Berrow, as well as his wife, stated he sustained « wound in the head during the gun battle with officers at Platte City on July 19, 1935): that he had been unable to obtain eny medical attention since that time, and that none of the mob since the gun battle had slept ina house but had been camping and sleeping in their automobile at night. He stated that he was in the battle near Dexter, Iowe, that morning and that he wes wounded twice, but which wounds were not serious, The wound in Buck Barrow’s head was over the right eyes Due to the lack of medical attention the wound in Barros's head gave off such an offensive odor that it was with the utmost difficulty that one could remain within several feet of him, Marvin Berrow stated that he did not know where the boys ob- tained the guns, ani denied thet he had participated in any robberies of National Guard Armories. No satisfactory statement could be obtained from him, He did, however, admit that he participated in three filling station robberies near Fort Dodge, Iowa, a few days prior to the gun battle. These &re, no doubt, the robberies mentioned by Agent Dewey in his part of this report. Mervin Barron's attitude was cynical, and even though realizing thet he probably did not have long to live,he, on severel occasions, laughed heartily about some of his es- capadese During the course of the interview one of the officers asked him why he and his companions so ruthlessly took human life, and his reply thereto was, “Well, I had to see that I did not get hurt".
