~2l- receipt of a telephone call from the Kansas City Bureau office to the effect that Clyde Barrow and two companions might be headed towerds Wichita from Junction City, Kansas, issued radio instructions for all cars to be on the lookout for them. Agent advised Chief Lyle of the fact that Kansas 1933 license plates 2-1314, issued to one Claude Barrett, General Delivery, Wichita, Kansas, might bave been secured by the Barrow Brothers, and Chief Lyle re- quested all officers to be on the lookout for this number. No record of a Claude Barrett could be found in Wichita. A car containing three mon passed through Wichita at a high mte of speed on July 25th and outdistanced Detective Fred Dillon, but a telephone message to Wollington caused the halting of this car, and the Sheriff at Wellington reported that the car contained three Oklahoma men who had been fishing, and no machine gun was found in the cars At Hutchinson, Kansas. Mrs. J. Leo Rauh, 502 Kast Sherman Street, stated that her husband had purchased Ford V-8 Sedm, Motor Noe 40-310035 about nine or ten days before its theft on June 15, 19355, The purchase was made through the Fort dealer at Ness City, Kansas, and the car was secured at Kansas City, Missouri, for delivery. Kanses plates 6-10709 were secured for thin car by Mre Rauh. The theft occurred at the side of the Raub home (a corner house) about 6 PeM. on June 13, 1935. Mr. Rauh had come home end parked the car on the side street, leaving the keys in the car for fifteen minutes. As soon as the theft was discovered, the Police and Sheriff were notified. Mrs. Rauh stated that a negro yard boy later reported that he noted thet s Ford roadster containing two men rode past the Rauh home about three times and thet leter the negro noted the roadster go by with just one man in ite Deputy Sheriff Guy Ankerholz stated that Mr, Raub telephoned the Sheriff about 6:50 P.M. on the day of the theft of his car to advise that it had been stolen. The Kensas City Bureau office has e ceré index showing the numbers of all Government pistols, revolvers and machine guns stolen in the district, A search of this index does not show Colt's «45 Automatic Pistol #4516976 On August 16th Prosecutor Cleavinger, of Platte City, obtained @ signed statement from Mrs, Blanche Berrow, widdow of Buck Barrow, witnessed by Agent A. Es Farland, of the Kansas City Office, which is as follows: “I, Blanche Barrow, do hereby make the following statement without fear, threats or coercion from any officer and the same is made by me of my own free will and accords I was married to Iven "Buck" Barrow in America, Oklehome on the Srd day of July 1931. I obtained the license myself “=
