on July 7, 1933, at the home of Mulloy for the purpose of investigtions
It appears that Sammons originally came to Kanesa City, Missouri, to
protect the life of Mulloy when he was threatened by other gangsterse Hoe
is known to be a close friend of Mulloy, Miller and other hardened |
criminals. He is known as a notorious killer, ‘gunman and racketeer of the
Al Capone gang. He is at present serving a life sentence in the Indiana
State Penitentisry as an habitual criminal, Warrants for his arrest also
exist in Chicago, Tllinoia, and Baltimore, Marylande No positive identifi-
cations have been made of Sammons although tentative photograph identifica-
tions and descriptions indicate the possibility that he was an actual
participant in the massacres

in underworld circles and in newspaper publicity given out by police
authorities as a possible participant in the masacre as an ectual assascins

of a United States Prohibition agent at Elizabeth, New Jorssy, on

below, at a house in Ste Paul, Minnesota. Karpis is knom to have been a
close associate of Frank Nash, Miller and their friends of the underworld,
He is a ruthlese killer ami a member of the NashBailey gang. He is wanted
for participation with Fred Barker in the murder of Sheriff Kelley at West
Plains, Missouri, on December 19, 1931, Information received from the
underworld indicates the possible participation of Kearpis, the Barkers,
Harry Campbell and Volney Davia in the Union Station massacre. Investigation
ie being carried forward with a view to securing evidence along these lines,
Fred Berker, alias Ted urphy, elias F. oO ‘arts Fred Barker haa tentatively
been identified by photograph as having lived at 204 Vernon avenue, Ste
Peul, Minnesote, during the early part of June, 1933, at whieh place Frank
Nash visited about a week before the massacres. Frdéd Barker is a menber of
the Nash-Bailey gang of kiliers and bank robbers and is a known friend of
Vernon Millere Information from the underworlé indicates his possible
participation in the massacres. Investigation is being conducted along those
