Investigation along those lines 1s being continusds Harry{empbelle Close associate of Fred Barker, Arthur R. Barker and ° other notorious outlaws and known as a member of the Nash-Bailey gangs Wanted for highway robberies at Independence, Kansas; Casper, Wyoming; Hutchinson, Kansas, and Stillwater, Oklahomae Underworld information indicates that he may have been an actual participant in the messacres - Investigation being continued along those liness Volneytpavise. Ex-convict from the Oklahoma State Penitentiary, friend of Fred Barker, Arthur R. Barker, Harry Campbell, alvin Earpis and other ‘notorious criminals, Records indicate that he escaped from the Oklahoma State Penitentiary on Jamary 3, 1923, where he ie wanted for the completion of hie sentence for robbery, ‘Investigation being conducted to determine whether he may have been an actual participant in the massacre _ with Karpis, the Barkera and otherae Defendants for Herboring Massacre Fugitives Vivian Methis, alias Vivien hMetthews, alias Vivien“alien, alias Vivien CGibson, alias Mra. C. Ts Hayes, aliss Mrs. C. 7.ORaya, alias Clard-Heyene Paramour of Yernon C. Miller, No process has been issued against her as a conspirator in the mesacre caseée Although no identifications have been made, information received by the Division indicates the possibility that ene may have teen with Miller and Senmons at the Union Station in Kansas City on the morning of June 17, 1933, shortly before the massacre took place. Shortly after the escape of Vernon C. Miller at Chicago, Illinois, Vivian Mathis was arrested by Division agenta ani local officera at Chicago, Illinois, on November 2, 1933, She wae indicted for harboring end concealing Miller by the United States Grand Jury at Chicago, Illinois, on November 8, 1933, entered a plea of guilty and on November 29, 1933, at Chicago received a sentence of one yesr and one day in the Federal Prison for Women, slderson, West Virginia.
