“Stenificant Info. On Malvo/Muhammad” - 10/17/02: At 4:35 p.m., the Public Information Officer for Montgomery ’ County P.D., receives a telephone call from an unknown subject, believed to be " _, the sniper. The individual boasted of the connection between the sniper killings . throughout the region, and the shootings in Montgomery, Alabama. He also said he ‘knew’ who was responsible for the area’s sniper shootings. The caller demanded that the PIO confirm the Alabama offense that occurred near Ann . Street where a woman died. Because no coins were deposited, the line goes dead. - The phone number on the I.D. was (804) 752-2931. The Alabama murder is confirmed and at 5:40 p.m., the same unknown male subject calls again. The return number this time is (804) 752-9808. The PIO stated he had confirmed © what was forwarded, and the UNSUB said he would call back when he had more coins. Note: Phone numbers came back to two pay phones within blocks of the Ponderosa shooting scene. seen by the source with an individual he referred to as his also said the boy (App. 18 YOA) was nicknamed ‘Sniper’. The source acknowledged Muhammad’s ownership of an M-16 rifle equipped with a'scope, He further said that ‘Williams’ (AKA; Muhammad) had a bitter divorce with his wife] __|saia that Muhammad and a subject now believed to be Malvo, were going to drive to Florida. It was the source’ belief that ‘Williams’ could be involved in these sniper shootings. ~ ~ 10/18/02: A resident from Washington state calls the task force and mentions the names of John A. Muhammad (‘Williams’) and Lee B. Malvo. ~ 10/18/02; At app. 11:10 a.m., source reports seeing a black male, matching the Muhammad image released by the media, at the Speedy Mart at 23807 Roger Clark in Ruther Glen, Virginia. He observed a blue Chevrolet Caprice with tinted windows. The subject went into the store and the manager is alleged to possess: the video. - ~ 10/18/02: Virginia priest] ‘St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Ashland, Va.), received call from UNSUB believed to be the sniper. The caller had mentioned a robbery-homicide in Montgomery, Alabama. - 10/19/02: Subjects showered at YMCA in Ashland, Va., prior to shooting at the Ponderosa Restaurant, reports at 5:00 p.m., that{ ammad (“Williams”).
