On 3/27/03, the GpHL released two letters with negative test results for anthrax. The first letter had been received at. the offices of U.s. Representative Phil Gingrey late 3/26/03 and was transported by Cobb County Hazmat to the GphL. The return address was the Libertarian Party of Gwinnett, 336l Poplar Drive,. Lawrenceville, Georgia 3oo44. The second letter had been transported by Atlanta Fire/Hazmat to the GPHL early on 3/27/03 Roswell Rd, East Building, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30342. The return address was listed as the "LIBERTARIAN PARTY OF DEKALBV", "p.O. BOx 930385, NORcRoss, GA 30003". Copies of said letters and police/Hazmat reports are attached hereto. AUSA was contacted on 3/25/03, and b6 provided an initial positive opinion for prosecution. b7C It is recommended that this matter be opened as a 279C investigation and assigned. ++ 2
